Description
NA The US Army CECOM-Washington intends to award a sole source purchase order for the modification and enhancement of the current Schiebel Vehicular Array Mine Detection System (VAMIDS) owned by the Humanitarian Demining Team (HD). This shall include the de sign, fabrication, installation, documentation, training, and transportation associated with converting the current front-mounted VAMIDS array into a side-mounted array to be attached to the LION II vehicle owned by HD. The VAMIDS system is a mine detecti on system. The current configuration of mounting the array out front is not safe for field operations since the driver will have to detect a mine and stop the vehicle in time or risk running the vehicle over it. A side-mounted VAMIDS array eliminates thi s risk. The duration of this effort is 4 months. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 USC 2304 (c)(1), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. However, all respon sible sources that can provide supporting data to demonstrate they can successfully provide the above modifications and enhancements to the VAMIDS system may submit a quote that shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must possess technical expertise a nd/or experience modifying and enhancing vehicular arrays. Responses should be no longer than five (5) pages. Responses are to be received via email within 45 calendar days of the date of this notice. All requests for further information must be in writ ing or via email, telephone requests for additional information will not be honored. You may forward responses to the Contracting Officer, Wanda G. Fair, e-mail: wanda.fair@cacw.army.mil; or Susie.Shupe, Procurement Assistant , e-mail: susie.shupe@cacw. army.mil.
