- Description
- The work includes a major renovation to three electric traction elevators located within Building 171. With the exception of the of the machine beams, hoistway sills, hoistway frames, car guide rails, counterweights and counterweight guide rails, the majority of components and machinery associated with Elevators #35, #41 and #42 will be replaced. In addition to replacing existing elevator components, numberous items will be provided or reworked to eliminate building code, elevator code and UFAS deficiencies or violations. Mechanical systems will be reworked in the machinge room and shafts to insure proper ventilation rates. This project will include providing smoke detectors in the elevator lobbies and machine room to bring these areas into complince with current code requirements. The existing fire protection system will be reworked and extended to provide coverage for all machine rooms and elevator shafts. All incidental work will be required. The estimated value is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The project will also include an incentive clause for completing the project on schedule. Solicitation will be available on or about 04 April 2003. The solicitation will be available on the NAVFAC E-Solicitation website via the internet at http://esol.navfac.navy.mil. Contractors must register for the solicitation before downloading from the NAVFAC E-Solicitation website. Registered contractors will be notified by e-mail when amendments to the solicitation are issued. The North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) Code is 233310 with an Annual Size Standard of $27,500,000.00. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. If the low offeror is a Large Business, a Sub-contracting plan will be required.
