Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division intends to initiate a procurement for Primagraphics Display Card Sets on a sole source basis with Primagraphics Ltd., Webster House, 30 Boltwood Walk, Amherst, MA 01002 for the part number listed below, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Primagraphics Ltd. is the sole manufacturer and the sole qualified supplier of this equipment at the present time. The Display Card Sets must support the Shipboard AN/TPX-42A(V)14 Field Change 2 (FC2) project. The Primagraphics Display Card Sets are the only commercial-off-the-shelf items that can meet the Government minimum requirements. Requirements for the Display Card Sets requirements include: 1) 6U VME form size for the cards; 2) radar scan converter with 2048 X 2048 resolution capability; and 3) graphics processor with 2048 X 2048 resolution. Primagraphics is the only manufacturer found to meet all the minimum requirements. The Primagraphics Display Card Set is the only commercial-off-the-shelf items that can meet these identified Government minimum requirements. This action will be processed as a commercial acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 12, and simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Subpart 13.5 will apply. The contract line item numbers and descriptions are Base Period: CLIN 0001 Primagraphics Display Card Set, Qty of 40 Each; Option Period I: CLIN 0101 Primagraphics Display Card Set, Qty of 40 Each; Option Period II: CLIN 0201 Primagraphics Display Card Set, Qty of 40 Each; Option Period III: CLIN 0301 Primagraphics Display Card Set, Qty of 40 Each; Option Period IV: CLIN 0401 Primagraphics Display Card Set, Qty of 40 Each; Option Period V: CLIN 0501 Primagraphics Display Card Set, Qty of 40 Each. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334119 with a size standard of 1,000 employees. The proposed contract for this equipment shall be for a period of one (1) Base Year Period, and four (4) Option Year Periods. This synopsis is for the basic contract and all subsequent delivery order. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responses received by 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time 06 December 2002 will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether it will initiate a competitive procurement. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received.
