Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following: One Varian Linatron M3 Modular X-Ray Linear Accelerator to include: 1) Greater than 2.5 Gy/min-m dose rate at 2.5 MV beam energy; 2) Low leakage (0.01%) X-ray head; 3) Compact RF power unit; 4) Modulator/power distribution cabinet. Programmable logic controller, External signal interface; 5) Touch panel control console; 6) Temperature control unit; 7) Spare parts kit; 8) Custom length interconnecting cable and hoses; 9) Two sets of Operator and Maintenance Manuals, and data books ; 10) Installation supervision and start-up assistance; 11) Tuition for two students at a one-week Linatron maintenance Course held at the Varian Training Center; and 12) Standard Commercial Warranty; One Dual Energy, 1 and 2.5 or 3 MV; One Manipulator, motorized with tilt, rotation and 9 push-button controls; One Laser System; and One Dual Energy Option to 1 MV with greater than .25 Gy.min-m dose rate. This requirement is limited to Varian Medical Systems, Inc., 6883 Spencer Street, Las Vegas, NV 89119 as the only responsible source, because the x-ray machine must be able to switch energy levels between 1 MeV and 3 MeV and maintain a tunable dosage level within a single linear accelerator. Any firms believing that they can provide a Linatron M3 Modular X-Ray Linear Accelerator (including all other items) that meets the requirement must show their ability to do so without compromising the quality, accuracy and reliability of the data and without causing programmatic hardship to the program, may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after this notification is published.
