- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Allenwood), located in White Deer and Montgomery, Pennsylvania requires Optometrist services. The Complex comprises four (4) separate institutions, including: United States Penitentiary (USP) Allenwood, Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Allenwood, and the Low Security Correctional Institution (LSCI) Allenwood (all of which are located in White Deer, Pa.). The Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Allenwood is located in Montgomery, PA. The Government intends to make a single award for this requirement. The estimated quantity of sessions for each twelve (12) month period of the contract is approximately ninety-six (96). Each of the institutions will have an estimated two (2) sessions per month. A session is defined as four hours of service with a minimum of 20 inmates, and a maximum of 25. Specific dates and times are to be determined between the Contractor, and the Health Services Administrator. The Contractor?s responsibilities will include performing eye examinations on inmate patients. The Contractor will perform all examinations required for visual acuity, prescribing glasses, and measuring for proper fit of glasses. The services will be performed inside the secure perimeter of the institution. The Contractor will not be responsible for direct inmate management. The performance period will be the base year and four option years. This is open to eligible small business types only. A security investigation/clearance is required. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit an offer that will be considered for award. The solicitation will be available on or after November 20, 2002, and will be distributed through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available except in extreme circumstances AND only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government?s best interest.
