- ITEM: GLOVE INSERTS, RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINANTS PROTECTIVE NSN : 8415-00-782-2809 THE GLOVE INSERTS , RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINANTS PROTECTIVE SHALL BE MANUFACTURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-G-82241C DATED 17 JANUARY 1979 AND PATTERN DATED 29 APRIL 1964. THE GLOVE INSERT IS INTENDED TO BE WORN BY ARMY, NAVY, AND AIR FORCE PERSONNEL WORKING DIRECTLY IN THE PRESENCE OF LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION. FIVE DELIVERY INCREMENTS TO BEGIN 150 DAYS AFTER AWARD TO TRACY, CA AND NEW CUMBERLAND, PA. FOB DESTINATION (THIS INFORMATION IS APPLICABLE TO THE FIRST DELIVERY ORDER). THIS PROCUREMENT WILL BE ISSUED AS A RFP, TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS (SB) SET-ASIDE, INDEFINITE DELIVERY TYPE CONTRACT , AWARDED TO THE MOST SUCCESSFUL OFFEROR. SOLICITATION IS FOR THE BASE YEAR AND TWO (2) OPTIONS TERMS. THE MINIMUM/MAXIMUM QUANTITIES ARE 410,000PAIRS AND 800,000 MAXIMUM PAIRS, RESPECTIVELY. BEST VALUE SOURCE SELECTION PROCEDURES ARE APPLICABLE TO THIS ACQUISITION. THE FOLLOWING EVALUATION FACTORS WILL BE INCLUDED IN DESCENDING ORDER OF IMPORTANCE: 1) PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION MODELS (PDMs) 2) EXPERIENCE/PAST PERFORMANCE 3) DLA MENTORING BUSINESS AGREEMENT ALL CONTRACTORS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE CCR IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARD. Availability of solicitations, FAR 5.102(d) applies, as our office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Important Note on Foreign Content The Defense appropriations and authorization acts and other statutes (including what is commonly referred to as "The Berry Amendment" impose restrictions on the DoD's acquisition of foreign products and services. Generally, Clothing and Textile items (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7012) and "specialty metals" (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7014) must be grown, reprocessed, reused, melted or produced in the United States, its possessions or Puerto Rico, unless one of the DFARS 225.7002-2 exceptions applies. Procurement history indicates UNICOR , a division of FPI, was awarded a contract on 12 December 2000 at a unit price of $.59 per pair. We are currently paying UNICOR a unit price of $.61 for the first option term.
