- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award additional work on a sole source basis to British Aerospace, Apex Tower, 7 High Street, New Malden, Surrey, KT3 4LH, United Kingdom to implement the MK-7 Surface Ship Command System?s (SSCS) compatibility requirements with STANDARD Missile-2 for the Republic of Korea?s KDX-II Class ships. The additional work includes providing Design Agent Engineering Services and material to add the supply of Weapons Direction Node cards for KDX-II Ships 4 through 6, provide Command and Control software fixes, revalidation for KDX-II Ship 1 trials, and to support the ship trials for KDX-II Ships 2 through 6. This procurement is in accordance with the requirements of Letters of Offer and Acceptance (LOAs) Nos. KS-P-LOZ and KS-P-LPK. The LOAs are between the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Korea. British Aero space is the original designer, developer and sole producer of the MK-7 Surface Ship Command System (SSCS). British Aerospace is the only known firm possessing the requisite technical expertise and engineering background capable of performing the design modification effort and FES support in a cost effective manner while negating any impact to the Korean Navy's shipbuilding program. This additional work will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
