Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a delivery order to Martin-Baker Aircraft Company, Limited under sole source Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-02-G-3046 for the NACES Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) in accordance with Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) MB9230. The follow-on ECP effort provides approximately 206 NACES seat retrofit change kits and associated hardware, installation, integrated logistics support, and technical data. The ECP modifies the SJU-17 NACES seat to provide for increased accommodation and to insure that ejection risk for an expanded range of aircrew anthropometry is equal to or less than the current injury risk with the originally qualified anthropometirc range. Martin-Baker Aircraft Company, Ltd. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of NACES and the only known source with the required technical expertise and data to meet the Government's needs.
