Description

Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD 20670 has a requirement for one (1) brake tool kit P/N 489-49, one (1) wheel tool kit P/N 489-50, and associated consumables (bolts, plug assembly, outer and inner grease assembly, inner seals, outer seal assembly, retaining rings bearing cones, bearing cups, drive inserts and heat shield assemblies for usage in the fleet of Lockheed Martin (General Dynamics) F-16 A/B OCU (block 15) aircraft vehicles at NAS Fallon, Nevada starting in the next three months. NAVAIR intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Goodrich Corporation, Troy, Ohio. To maintain configuration control, the improved wheels and brakes for the USN F-16 aircraft will be consistent with or equivalent to the USAF F-16 inventory and provide better load distribution, improved disk integrity, and the capability to use either radial or bias tires. The improved wheels and brakes will provide increased performance, reliability, and maintainability and reduce operating cost. The consumable usage assumptions are 250 annual landings per aircraft, 40 landings per tire, with 40 initial monthly aircraft installations. No telephone responses will be accepted.
