Description
The USPS, Supply Management, Vehicles CMC, is currently conducting market research for potential sources to supply vehicle motor oils and lubricants, such as transmission fluids, brake fluid, hydraulic oil, greases, penetrating and gear oils, to support approximately 350 Postal Service Vehicle Maintenance Facilities (VMF?s) and a fleet of 206,000 vehicles. Product delivery to be F. O. B. Destination to the various VMF locations throughout the entire United States, in accordance to all applicable local, state, and federal transportation regulations. Services: Services required include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: Ability to supply vehicle motor oils and lubricants as ordered; capability and capacity to provide product in cases of quart containers, 55-gallon drums, and bulk quantities; Ability to fill and store drums, cylinders, tanks, tank trucks, etc.; Ability to recycle used product; ability to sample and test cylinders, drums, tanks and transfer product to/from the various containers; and ability to obtain and maintain all permits and licenses in accordance with existing local, state, and federal regulations. Suppliers should be capable of conducting business (ordering/invoicing) electronically. All potential suppliers who possess the knowledge, expertise, and/or technical capability to produce/supply the referenced products/services are encouraged to respond to this notice. All responses are requested in writing to the contracting officer no later than March 28, 2003. E-mail responses will be accepted. In the event that a subsequent solicitation is issued for the projected requirements described herein, or specific portions thereof, a solicitation/synopsis will be published in accordance with the USPS purchasing policy and procedures. The USPS will not provide any funds for information submitted as a result of this notice.
