Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution, Gilmer, West Virginia, intends to make a single award for the provision of an X-Ray technician. The contract shall consist of a 12 month base period and one 12 month option period for renewal. The estimated quantities for the base period and each option are as follows: A session is defined as one hour. Services are to be provided on a schedule mutually decided between the parties, and will equal 30 sessions per week. Duties include: providing evidence of certification for completion of an approved two year or longer course in Radiology Technology leading to a certificate of completion; providing evidence of current certification of Basic Cardiac Life Support and any continuing education credits required by the American College of Radiological Technologists with annual updates prior to any expiration of such certification or education; maintaining the radiological program within the scope of professional certification, according to all federal/state laws, agency policy and guidelines and maintain department x-ray procedure manuals accordingly; preparing x-ray for shipment to the radiologist for interpretation; completing and filing all x-ray reports in both the medical record and x-ray file; assisting the Health Service Administrator by ensuring appropriate inspection schedules, maintenance of equipment and supplies and notifying HSA or designee when supplies are needed; provide in service and competency training to the health service staff as required; maintain the dosimetry program according to community standards, national policy and contractual agreement; complete al x-ray studies as ordered by the medical staff and ensure that all requisitions are completed according to policy. This is a non-personal services contract and not a personnel appointment. The solicitation 100% set aside for small business. The solicitation will made available on or about March 13, 2003 and will be distributed solely through the General Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is April 16, 2003. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered.
