Description
The Federal Highway Administration intends to award, by Total Small Business Set Aside, to perform ?Engineering Support and Evaluation Precast Concrete Pavement? for three field demonstrations of innovative concrete highway technology. For background information, see report titled ?The Feasibility of Using Precast Concrete Panels to Expedite Highway Pavement Construction?. This Report, Number 9-1517-1, was published in March 2000 by the Center for Transportation Research at the University of Texas-Austin. Additional reports were published in the proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Concrete Pavements, and the 81st and 82 Meetings of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), January 2002 and January 2003, respectively. Copies of these reports are available in electronic form from FHWA by contacting Mark Swanlund at ?mark.swanlund@fhwa.dot.gov?. The NAICS Code is 541710. The solicitation and all related documents and amendments, if any, will only be released and available electronically through Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) web site at http://www1.eps.gov/spg/DOT/FHWA/postdate_1.html which will list all the FHWA business opportunities sorted by posted date. The solicitation and related documents will be posted under RFP number. Interested parties must download the RFP from that site. NO WRITTEN, TELEPHONIC, FACSIMILE, OR E-MAIL REQUESTS will be honored, however, interested parties can register at the aforementioned site to receive procurement announcements/notifications of postings by e-mail. Since this solicitation will only be available electronically, it is the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the FebBizOpps website for any solicitation amendments. The ESTIMATED release date of the RFP is April 7, 2003. NO OTHER PROCUREMENT INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The Department of Transportation, Short-Term Lending Program offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
