Description
U.S. Army ARDEC is seeking information and potential sources to procure a limited quantity of off the shelf non-developmental cartridges for test and evaluation. The U.S. Army has a need for a non-lethal 40mm crowd dispersal cartridge with the following characteristics: Compatible with the 40mm MK19 grenade machine gun with no changes to the standard operating procedures associated with loading, firing, and unloading the weapon; compatible with standard grenade launcher sights; no black powder propellant; no residue from firing deposited in barrel to the detriment of subsequent weapon firing/function; effective non-lethal incapacitation minimum engagement range of 50 meters and maximum effective range of 500 meters (threshold) and maximum effective range of 1500 meters objective); operational in climatic conditions from 0 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit; capable of storage in climatic conditions of -46 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit; have a functional reliability greater than 95 percent at temperatures between 0 and 125 degrees Fahrenheit. Interested firms should submit literature/brochures describing the technical capabilities of their candidate cartridge in response to the aforementioned criteria. Responses should be submitted through the U.S. Army ARDEC, ATTN: AMSTA-AQ-APB, Jean Grinter, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000. This is a Market Survey, not a pre-solicitation notice. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. Respondents should submit their qualification data within 30 days from the date of this publication. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Telephone requests are not acceptable.
