Description

NA The Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Research Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005 intends to award on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 13.5 with Titan Pulse Sciences Division, San Diego, CA for the purchase of an Ultracapacitor Intermediate Energy Storage System, 1 each. This is a specialized device, prototypes of which have been developed only by Titan Pulsed Sciences. They are the only company that has the capability of delivering this one of a kind power -conditioning device for ARL?s unique application. The total cost includes a design and modeling effort to insure all of the specifications have been met. An award is anticipated by the end of March 2003. Delivery is expected for the month of November 2 003. This announcement is posted for less than 45 days, but in accordance with FAR 5.203, the open period represents a reasonable time for interested parties to respond. This notice is not a request for competitive proposal; however, the agency will cons ider all proposals received prior to the response date of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. No telephone requests will be honored.
