Description
NA This is not a solicitation announcement; this is a sources sought synopsis only for 8(a) certified contractors, NAICS Code 237990, with a size standard of $28.5 Million. Responses must provide proof of SBA 8(a) certification. Two copies of the responses to this sources sought synopsis may be faxed, or mailed to the attention of Cheryl Jackson, (fax)912-652-6059, US Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, Attn: CESAS-CT-P, Cheryl Jackson, PO Box 889, Savannah, GA 31402-0889. Responses to this souces sought synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, and if the Government still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will b e published in the CBD. No solicitation is currently available. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement at a later time. Work consists of smooth to grade and installing bank erosion protection along approximately 50 00 feet of the South Carolina side of Savannah Harbor. Rock rip-rap will be used to protect four separate areas of bank along the South Carolina bank of the Savannah River, within a two mile distance, immediately downstream of Savannah, Georgia. Construc tion will take place from the bank and may require working off barges. Construction will take place during all stages of the approximate 9 foot tidal range of the Savannah River. Period of performance is 180 days. Estimated cost range is $1,000,000.00 t o $5,000,000.00. Responses must provide the following additional information, 8(a) contractors must demonstrate that they have performed similar work placing rock in tidal conditions, by providing a list of all previous contracts that demonstrate the abil ity to do marine work of this nature, with contract number, amount of contract, company's name and point of contact with telephone number that can verify work was completed satisfactorily. Responses must be received no later than 4:30 Eastern Daylight Tim e, on 11 April 2003. This notice is to assist the Savannah District, Corps of Engineers in determining potential sources only. This sources sought synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the info rmation solicited.
