- Description
- The Director of the Human Performance and Business Analysis Division of the Naval Personnel Development Command will host a review of the Naval Education and Training Command?s new Integrated Learning Environment (ILE) reusable content strategy for interested representatives of Government and industry on Monday, 24 Mar 03 and Tuesday 25 Mar 03. NPDC will provide an overview of the Integrated Learning Environment Strategy; discuss current draft guidance documents and technical specifications for knowledge management, development of reusable learning objects, and initial architecture goals for development of PC-based simulation products. NETC and NPDC anticipate FY-04-FY09 expenditures on development of reusable learning content to exceed $30M annually. However, this does not represent a commitment on behalf of the Government to issue an RFP or award a contract. Briefings and discussion will be held 1300-1700 on Monday, 24 Mar, and continue from 0800 to 1200 in the morning and 1330-1630 in the afternoon on Tuesday, 25 Mar at the Hilton Norfolk Airport in Norfolk, VA. A detailed agenda, directions, maps, information on accommodations and registration is available through the NPDC web site located at: http://www.npdc.navy.mil. The purpose of the ILE strategy is to provide a revolutionary new capability for designing, developing, and deploying learning and performance support content. The ILE strategy will include the following technologies: 1) learning management and learning content management systems, 2) reusable learning object development tools, 3) meta-tagging and intelligent agent search tools, 4) knowledge management, and 5) PC-based simulation development and delivery tools/systems. The technical specifications can be accessed via the Policy and Guidelines link on the following web site: http://www.navylearning.navy.mil/. The technical POC is Ms. Krissy Kritselis, NPDC N9, who may be reached at (757) 444-2996 ext. 3015. The intent of this industry briefing is to introduce the Navy ILE Program Manager and members of the program staff, specify appropriate channels for communicating with the program, review the program's history, objectives, current status, schedule, and anticipated funding.
