Description

The Social Security Administration requires contractor provided services to remove old carpet tile on the 6th floor of the Harold Washington Social Security Center (HWSSC), 600 West Madison Street, Chicago, IL 60661, and replace it with new Government furnished carpet tiles. Contractor will provide all management, supervision, labor, tools and equipment (except Government furnished carpet tile and primer) to accomplish the task as specified in solicitation SSA-RFQ-03-0003. The total area to be re-carpeted is approximately 5,435 square meters (approx. 6,500 square yards). The area will be occupied. All work shall be performed on weekends only during other than normal business hours; i.e., from 6:30 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday. Contractor will be responsible for moving conventional furniture (desks, credenzas, bookcases, chairs, etc.) as well as systems furniture workstations. All debris generated during performance of this requirement will be removed from the building by the contractor at the completion of each weekend shift. A site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at the HWSSC in Chicago, IL. All work should be completed within 120 calendar days after contract award. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238330. The size standard is $12.0 million. THIS PROCUREMENT IS A TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Offers received from firms that do not qualify as small businesses will be rejected. Solicitation SSA-RFQ-03-0003 will be available for download from the FedBizOpps website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) on or about March 17, 2003. NO HARDCOPIES OF SOLICITATION SSA-RFQ-03-0003 WILL BE AVAILABLE.
