Description
The above-cited solicitation is amended to reflect the following information:Closing date is changed to February 21, 2003 vice January 31 2003 The following technical questions were received, and clarification is provided as follows: ?Wet Riveted? per note 6 on sheet one, means to use a sealing compound to prevent water intrusion. Per note 7 on sheet 1, there is no specification for the primer, no preference for the color of the primer, and no preferred supplier of the primer. There is no specification for the Topcoat with Aluminized Epoxy paint, no preference for the shade (e.g. dull finish vs. high polish).There is no preferred supplier of the paint. Per note 8 on sheet 1 Compression Seal Bulb Type is a durable weather tight seal to safeguard against water and contaminants.The Coast Guard prefers the best the industry has to offer in regards to the cross sectional profile, and the polymer the Coast guard prefers the best industry has to offer. Regarding the 2x4 Wood Plate per note #10 on sheet 1. See REV. B. Stacking angles per detail #12 on sheet 2. See REV.B The Fasteners Hardware per note #5 on sheet 1 Threaded Floating Nut on Bottom Shell and Captive Bolt on Top Shell, the location of fastener hardware is up to the manufacturer, to provide the best installation practical. The dividers per BOM item 13 on sheet one are to be attached to the bottom shell by seam welding. End Caps (Items 6 and 7 per both sheets) are to be attached to the shells by seam welding. Detail A-Packing Foam on sheet 2: Cavity in the bottom half of the packing foam is open to the top half of the packing foam (the bottom surface of the top half of the packing foam would be in contact with the helicopter blades.) The bottom half of the packing foam will need to be cut out to fit the dimensions of the blade. The dimensions of the blade are to scale.
