Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to enter into a "SOLE SOURCE" purchase order with Physikalish-Technische Bundesanstatlt. This requirement is in support of calibration services to complete the dimensional measurements on four artifacts provided by NIST (2 pistons, 2 cylinders) according to specifications. Measurments to be made on each artifact 1) 8 straightness errors at sectioning plaines 0, 45, 90, 135, 180, 225, 270, 315. 2) 5 roundness errors at sectioning planes 3 mm, 18.75, 37.4mm, 56.25m,, 72mm, from upper from face. 3) 10 diameters, 2 each ( 0 deg and 90 deg) ata planes 3mm, 18.75mm, 37.4mm, 56.25mm, and 72 mm from upper face. 4) English translation and data written to CD The Government anticipated the award of a firm fixed priced purchaser order. The required peeriod of performance from March 17, 2003 through March 16, 2004. The proposed requirement is for servives for shich the jGovernment intends to solicit and negotitate with only one source under authority for FAR 13.106-b), PTB is the only source at this time which can provide the measurements at the uncertainty level that is needed (expanded uncertainty on diameter +/- 50nm.) All responsible source may submit a quotation which, if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responsed to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. A request for quotation (RFQ) package is not available.
