- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a commercial sole source purchase order to Amersham Biosciences, Piscataway, NJ 08855, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the following: 13470301 AKTA Purifier 10 with FRAC 950 with TFT Control (1 ea); 18110842 Motor Valve IV-908 (1 ea); 18110841 Motor Valve PV-908 (2 ea); 18115424 AKTA User Kit (1 ea);and 18608313 FRAC 950 Rack C Microtitre Plt (1 ea). The system must have the following capatilities: 1) be able to purify biomolecules from complex starting materials derived from cell lysates, tissue 4 homogenates, recombinant protein expression systems and other sources and perform separations based on a variety of sample characteristics, such as molecular weight, net surface charge, hydrophobicity, while retaining biological activity, 2) able to automate the running of large, open columns as well as a variety of gel filtration media with a flow rate range of .01-10mls/min at pressures ranging from 0-3625psi, 3) must be a two-pump gradient system, 4) the enter wetting flow path must be inert to halides, 5) include a fraction collector which is fully integrated in the system and fully controllable via the system control software, 6) controller must allow programs to be time-based, volume-based or column-volume based, and 7) control of motorized valves, fraction collector, dynamic gradient mixer, and autosampler must all be possible from the system controller. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 10 days of date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Amersham Biosciences. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. There is no solicitation package available.
