Description

NA Defense Contracting Command ? Washington (DCC-W) intends to issue and award a sole source contract with NCR Government Systems Corporation, 2 Choke Cherry Road, Rockville, MD 20850-4030 for technical support services. Services consist of telephonic and on -site software maintenance of government owned software protocols point of service application (PSNOS) and AUTODIN, operational within this NCR 5655 and 3690 Front End processors (FEP?s). PSNOS and AUTODIN were integrated with standard NCR ?off-the-shelf? proprietary software products. Based on the proprietary nature of the software, which integrates with the government owned PSNOS and AUTODIN protocols, no other vendor can provide successful software upgrades, revisions, or maintenance. NCR Corporation is the sole proprietary owner of the operating systems of the hardware. Contractor personnel must possess TOP SECRET security clearance. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Parts 12 and 13. This RFQ is being conducted under Simpl ified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), FAR Part 13.5. The statutory authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304( c )(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determinati on by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a c ompetitive procurement. Request for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored. A firm-fixed price contract for one year is contemplated. Point of contact: Mr. Timothy J.
