- NA Services. AMCOM proposes to acquire on an other than full and open competitive basis, post production system support required for sustainment of the AH-64A aicraft, special mission kits, peculiar ground support equipment, modified common ground support eq uipment, and automatic test equipment. The proposed sustainment effort includes support equipment, training, testing, logistical support, publications, systems engineering, program system support and field support. The awardee will be McDonnell Douglas H elicopter Company (MDHC) Mesa Arizona. MDHC is the only source familiar with the requirements peculiar to the AH-64A helicopter. Several subsystems designs and manufacturing process are unique to the AH-64A and are not in any way comparable to other exis ting aircraft. There is currently no other helicopter manufacturer who has built the Apache helicopter and integratred the subsystems to the AH-64A configuration and performance requirements. This will bea one-year services contract. The contracting off icer for this effort is MAJ John S. Womack, 256-313-4124 and the Contract Specialist is Peggy Hunt, 256-313-4130.
