- Description
- NA This Commerce Business Daily announcement is part of a market survey to obtain product information from Non Developmental Item (NDI) sources. The CECOM-RDEC is seeking information from sources that feel they are capable of providing an off-the-shelf, NDI software product to enhance any military communications system that uses UDP/IP or RTP/UDP/IP packets. This military communications system should be enhanced by reducing header overhead using header compression. Header Compression will enable efficient u se of limited bandwidth. The software is required to be compliant with the Internet Engineering Task Force RFC 3095. RFC 3095 uses a technique called Robust Header Compression. This market survey is open to both U.S. and foreign vendors. If such software is available, the CECOM RDEC will test and evaluate the software in point-to-point communications links, such as satellite, cell phone, etc. These evaluations will assess bandwidth efficiency and robustness improvements resulting from head er overhead minimization. Subsequently, products demonstrating exceptional performance can obtain approval for integration into ongoing programs when the need exists. This announcement is NOT a Request for Bid or Proposal, but a Sources Sought and does not commit the Government to award a contract under the above listed terms, nor is the Government responsible to pay for samples or information received. All interested p arties are to respond by submitting product descriptions of their existing NDI product to include its availability for testing. The submission should specifically address a capability overview and include commercially available literature, specifications, and a summary of existing users or customers. Interested vendors should send candidate NDI product descriptions by 26 March 2003 to: a. CECOM RDEC Albert J, Myers Research Center, Building 2700, Charles Wood Area ?
