Description
NA CLASS CODES: 43 - Pumps and Compressors and 81 - Containers, Packaging, and Packing supplies. Market Research Questionnaire and Purchase Description for the Load Handling System Modular Fuel Farm (LMFF). The objective of this market research is to determine if existing commercial or non-developmental items are available and suitable to fulfill the Army?s requirement for a Palletized Load System (PLS) and Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck-Load Handling System (HEMTT-LHS) compatible petroleum storage and distribution system, the Load Handling System Modular Fuel Farm (LMFF). There is no risk to you for participating in this survey. Of course, we cannot compensate you for your participation. This is, h owever, an important opportunity for you to influence the solicitation provisions and contract clauses, our budget requests, and the full range of other elements supporting the acquisition strategy for this program. We plan to make a production contract a ward in fiscal year 2004. The LMFF will be an ISO compatible system that has the ability to be transported using the HEMTT-LHS truck and PLS truck as the prime movers, and PLS trailer, and can be emplaced, operated, maintained, and recovered by skilled personnel. The LMFF will cons ist of two different type modules: tankrack modules with a minimum capacity of 2,500 gallons and a pumping assembly module with a filtration unit, a fuel additive injector, fuel testing capability, spill control equipment and accessories, and appropriate h oses, valves, and fittings. The LMFF will be capable of evacuating all but residual fuel from the hoses and other system components prior to tear down. Mobility requirements of the HEMTT-LHS and PLS trucks and PLS trailer will not be affected while transpo rting LMFF. The LMFF will meet ISO container requirements to allow stacking of tankracks and meet requirements of worldwide intermodal shipping. The LMFF will be transportable by highway, rail, air, and marine transport modes and will be handled by crane, forklift, container handling equipment, and material handling equipment.
