Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to issue a Request for Proposal N68335-03-R-0074 for two units with a possible 2 option units, of gas-fired, batch style, burn-off ovens designed for removing powdered paint coating from metal components and equipment. This RFP will be issued as a 100% small business set-aside competitive procurement. The oven furnace compartment maximum operating temperature will be 800 degrees F with an afterburner temperature of 1400 degrees F. There are four different configurations needed for four different US Navy activities (two are option ovens), ranging in interior size from 8' W x 10'L x 8'6" H... to ... 9'W x 32'L x 14'H. The oven burner shall operate on either natural gas or propane, dependent upon Navy site. Ovens controls shall operate on 460V, 60Hz, 3 phase power. In addition to other relevant codes, the ovens shall be in conformance with National Fire Protection Association Bulletin #86 for Class "A" ovens. Installation, start-up, training, and submission of logistical support data will also be required as part of the contract. The delivery schedule specifies that a site survey takes place within 45 days after date of award with delivery of the units within sixty days thereafter. This requirement shall be fulfilled by supplying "commercial items" as defined in Section 2.101 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). The estimated Issue Date for the RFP is 03 April 2003. This RFP will be posted on the NAVAIR web site at www.navair.navy.mil.
