- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) plans to issue a solicitation for the acquisition of three types of Rigging Boards used on printing presses during currency production, stock numbers 1L001958, 1L001959, and 1L002002 in accordance with BEP Specification PB:RB-3, dated December 6, 2002. An unrestricted full and open competitive solicitation is planned. The contract type will be Fixed-Price, ID/IQ type. Delivery terms are F.O.B. Destination to the BEP, 3201 Pennsy Dr, Landover, MD. 20785 and BEP, 9000 Blue Mound Rd, Fort Worth, TX. 76131. The period of performance will be for one (1) twelve 12-month base period and four (4) 12-month option years. Estimated quantities for deliveries to the Washington D.C. facility for Type I boards are as follows: 5,000 boards for the base year and each option year. For delivery of Type II boards to each of the two BEP facilities, estimates are as follows: 10,000 boards for the base year, 6,000 boards for Option year I, and 5,000 boards for the remaining three option years. Estimated quantities for deliveries to each of the facilities for Type III boards are as follows: 10,000 boards for the base year and 11,000 boards for each of the option years. This procurement will be negotiated and awarded according to the procedures set forth in FAR parts 12 and 15. Offerors will be requested to submit a material sample consisting of 200 Type I boards and 50 Type III boards to the Washington, D.C. facility with their offer for evaluation. Additionally, another 200 Type II boards shall be submitted and delivered to the Fort Worth, TX. facility. The source selection decision will be based on overall best value to the BEP, price and non-price factors considered. The solicitation will be available on or about March 5, 2003. BEP is posting this announcement, as well as the final solicitation on GSA?s Federal Business Opportunities webpage at http://www.eps.gov. Rigging board specifications will be made available at that time.
