- Description
- The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Directorate of Procurement, is performing market research to identify potential sources for the occasional, short-term leasing of a Russian MI-26 helicopter and crew for use in the Middle East. The Government has occasional urgent requirements for the movement of cargo that requires the unique capabilities of the MI-26, considering weight and altitude of cargo, etc. These requirements occur with little advance notice, are extremely urgent, and require rapid execution by the prime contractor. In the past two years, USSOCOM has leased an MI-26 on two occasions. Potential sources must have ability and experience in successfully acting as the prime contractor to the US Government in coordinating all efforts, including but not limited to: locating available MI-26s; subcontracting with owners; coordinating with MI-26 crew, host nation Governments and US Embassies; and the timely movement of the MI-26 from its origin to the job site. Potential sources should respond to this requirement via email to hollandm2@socom.mil. Include your company name and contact info; small business program & socio-economic program status; information about your company related to leasing MI-26s for projects in the Middle East to include, but not limited to, examples of past similar projects and the subcontractors and equipment owners you utilize.
