- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking sources to provide maintenance for its Storage Technology Corporation (STK) Automated Cartridge System (ACS). The system is located at the National Computer Center, Woodlawn, MD and the Metro West Building, Baltimore, MD. SSA requires maintenance services for the ACS equipment and software when the current contract with Storage Technology Corporation of Elkridge, MD expires on November 12, 2003. The ACS support all tape processing requirements for SSA?s large scale IBM/IBM code compatible mainframe computer systems that support the National Computer Center?s processing operations. The equipment includes STK 4490/M30 Tape Cartridge Control units; STK 4490/M34 Cartridge Tape Drives; STK 9310/00C Library Storage Modules (Powerhorn); STK 9311/001 Control Units/ Library Management Units; STK 9490/M34 Cartridge System (Timberline); STK 9840/L03 Tape Drives (Fibre); STK 9840/L02 Library, Escon Drive; STK T9840B Tape Drive (Library); STK 9741 Mounting Frames and related features. The software includes IBM MVS/OS390 with Component Distributed System License Options (DSLO); Library Station; and STK 9400ACS Tape Control/Management. SSA reserves the right to add like equipment under the replacement contract. The maintenance requirement consists of 24 hours, 7 days a week coverage, with a 2-hour response time. Contractor employee must be OEM certified. Contractor employee(s) performing on-site at SSA facilities must meet the agency?s security clearance. They must complete some or all of the listed security forms: FD-258, Fingerprint Charts; GSA 176, Statement of Personal History; Optional Form 306, Declaration for Federal Employment; Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) authorization form; and a legible photocopy of the work authorization permit and social security card for a NON-US citizen. Interested firms currently performing these services are invited to submit information in sufficient detail to the Contracting Officer. Firms should include corporate experience and three (3) references of customers receiving service on similar STK equipment; technical literature; OEM certification; and a copy of your GSA schedule if the maintenance service is available on schedule. Cost or pricing data may be submitted. This is not a request for proposals (RFP) and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA?s assessment of capable sources. Responses to this notice should be submitted in duplicate within 15 days of this publication. Refer to 99-36017 or ?ACS Maintenance?. Email documents are acceptable.
