Description

Bechtel Nevada (BN), Cable Engineering Group is interested in pursuing the availability of continuously gas blocked power cables, or a cable assembly capable of blocking particulate matter that could generally be pushed by a gas (air) through a cable. We are particularly interested in pressure restrictions starting from 5 psi or above. The cable will be installed in a 12 inch diameter pipe filled with epoxy, concrete or grout. The cable or assembly will need to withstand these environmental conditions without degradation. The following power requirements are required for two different applications: 1.) A 600 Volt, four conductor, gas blocked power cable (assembly), minimum conductor size #4/0 but not larger than 500 kcmil Cu. 2.) A 5000 Volt, four conductor, gas blocked power cable(assembly), minimum conductor size #2 AWG but not larger than #4/0 AWG Cu.
