Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), NIH, under the Authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1, intends to negotiate with the Clinical Trials and Survey Corporation for a four-year continuation of Contract No. N01-AI-85339, awarded as a small business set-aside under NAICS Code 541519. Under the proposed continuation, the Contractor will continue to maintain the ?Statistical and Clinical Coordinating Center (SACCC) for the Women and Infants Transmission Study (WITS)? by providing overall project management, scientific and analytical support to investigators and to NIH programmatic staff for the Women and Infants Transmission Study (WITS). This Contractor is responsible for the planning, implementation, and overall coordination of field activities, data and biological specimens collection, collation, and management. The Contractor also provides critical statistical and epidemiologic support to the WITS investigators and has a crucial role in the performance and productivity of the project as a whole. Interruption of the SACCC?s activities will lead to complete paralysis of clinical and biological data collation and processing, analysis of results, development of further scientific concepts and publication and impede the longitudinal analysis of health outcomes of mothers and children affected by HIV/AIDS. The Division of AIDS requires this continuation to coincide with the completion of the WITS project over the next four years. See Numbered Note 22. No collect calls will be accepted.
