Description

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a contract modification for the Systems Engineering, Management and Integration (SEMI) support of the FY03 Tactical Tomahawk (TT) Torpedo Tube Launch (TTL) System Design and Demonstration (SDD) program. This support shall be provided for Tomahawk Weapons System (TWS) systems engineering support under the direction of PMA-280 for the TT TTL program to facilitate the integration of the TWS TTL capability into the SSN688, SSN21 and SSN774 class platforms. Efforts include, but are not limited to, participation and technical analyses/input for engineering assessments and trade studies, conduct requirements and analysis/tradeoffs on critical and other-than-critical technical performance parameters, and support TTL unique Information Assurance and Joint Interoperability Test Command planning/strategy activities. NAVAIR intends to award this effort to Raytheon Systems Company (RSC), P.O. Box 11337, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337. Since 1994, RSC has been the sole developer, designer, and manufacturer for the TWS. RSC solely possesses the current configuration and manufacturing data for the TT missile. Because a detailed knowledge and expertise of the TT missile is required to conduct tasking under this contract, RSC is the only source capable of accomplishing this requirement in the required timeframe and without duplication of costs.
