Description
This project is comprised of all required labor, equipment and materials necessary to perform the following work: Clearing, reconstructing water bars, and filling in water bars to gain access and demobilize from the site. Reconstruct all water bars to prohibit motorized vehicle after Site 1 ? (Additive A) Clear, save, and remove existing alders and vegetation along 56 m of roadway. Excavate, remove, and stockpile existing roadway material (96 CM) located on a flood plain. Material will be removed and stockpiled on and adjacent to the remaining road fill, material will be placed. Material will be placed outside of the adjacent overflow channel within 35 m of the site. Replace excavated alders and soil on top of stockpiled material and excavated areas after the material has been contoured and shaped. Site 2) Clear, save, and remove existing alders and vegetation along 30 m of roadway. Excavate, remove, and stockpile existing roadway material (153 CM) located on a flood plain. Move and stockpile material across a stream (10 to 15.5 m wide depending on stage) to the far side floodplain. Material will be later placed along site 3 and incorporated within the constructed logjam diversion protector. Replace excavated alders and soil on top of excavated area after material has been contoured. Site 3) Clear, save, and remove existing alders and vegetation 76 m by 8 m area of vegetation and trees. Stockpile vegetation (alder, brush etc) for later incorporation. Excavate, gather and transport 6.5 m long logs with root wads and up to 10 m long logs without root wads attached to the site. Excavate, place and cable logs, and construct manmade logjam. Incorporate stockpiled roadway material in logjam. Replace excavated alders and soil on top of excavated area after material has been contoured. Location: All the project sites are located on the Camp Coogan road system on the Southwest side of Baranof Island. The work sites are 1.61 to 2.4 kilometers (depending on access point) from the site and require clearing to access the site. Camp Coogan road system is remote location accessible only by floatplane or boat/barge and is approximately 18 km Southeast of Sitka, Alaska. The estimated price range is $25,000 - $100,000. This acquisition is totally set-aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code is 234110 and the small business size standard is $28.5 million average annual receipts for the past three years. The solicitation will be posted to the FedBizOpps website on or about April 7, 2003 for viewing and printing. Potential offerors are requested to obtain the solicitation via the Internet if possible. Alternatively, a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests should reference solicitation KTN-03-18. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. PLAN HOLDERS LIST: The Interested Vendors List (IVL) has replaced the Plan Holders List that was previously available with solicitation packages. Follow this procedure for EACH project of interest. Use the Register as Interested Vendor option to add your company name to the IVL and then view or print the IVL by selecting View List of Interested Vendors for each project.
