Description
NA MARKET SURVEY #LAV-CC-001: USMC LIGHT ARMORED VEHICLE (LAV) COMMAND AND CONTROL (LAV-CC). THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY REQUESTING INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT: The USMC is planning on upgrading the communications suite and ma king related changes in the crew area of their existing Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) Command and Control (C2) variant in preparation for the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) fielding. The upgrade is primarily an integration effort whose focus is on an op en architectural design which will permit a ?drop-in? replacement of the JTRS, once fielded, and legacy radios are replaced. THE ESTIMATED QUANTITY is 50 units, with a target contract award in 3rd QTR 2005. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. In support of this potential requirement, the Program Manager, Lig ht Armored Vehicles (PM-LAV), TACOM, is conducting market research to determine what alternatives might be available using existing technology/hardware. This announcement is to provide potential offerors an opportunity to provide information relating to w eapon systems they believe could fulfill anticipated USMC requirements. The initial phase of this market research consists of a Market Investigation Questionnaire.
