- THIS IS A COMBINE SYNOPSIS SOLICITATION. REQUEST YOUR RESPONSE NO LATER THAN 27 MARCH 2003 AT 1300 HOURS. Requests provide services of a qualified technician(s) dispatched to the vessel. Technician shall have authorized Furuno factory training or shall have demonstrated his/her proficiency by having engaged in the repair and service of this equipment on a continuous basis for a minimum of three years. The technician shall also be the holder of a valid General Radiotelephone Operator Certificate, GMDSS Radio-Telephone Operator Certificate and GMDSS Maintainer License. Proof of all qualifications and certificates shall be presented to commencing work. a)Provide the below listed equipment and deliver to USNS Mercy: 1)RC1840 400-watt SSB A3 console, qty 1. 2)FS5000 SSB Radiotelephone w/built-in DSC, qty 1. 3)Felcom 15 Inmarsat-C, qty 1. 4)GPS Kit for Felcom 15, qty 1. 5)DSC60 DSC module for FS5000, qty 1. 6)DP6 NBDP terminal, qty 1. 7)FM8500 VHF Radiotelephone w/DSC, qty 2. 8)PP-510 Printer, qty 2 9)PR850A Power supply w/battery changeover, qty 1 10)FUSA1800 console, qty 1 11)Miscellaneous cables for connection of above. 12)Crate for all above equipment, qty 1 b)Install above equipment on Bridge of USNS Mercy 1)Exact location to be determined by Ships Chief Mate, Craig Gallegher. 2)Provide and install new deck foundations on bridge for FUSA1800 Console. 3)Restore all interference to as new condition at completion of work. c)Mount FS-5000 system by new GMDSS rack. 1) Provide a plan for mounting the FS-500 system. On approval of plan by MSCREP install the FS-5000 system. d)Run new cables to existing GMDSS antennas. 1) Install IAW good marine practices. e)Run power cable from new GMDSS rack to old GMDSS rack for 24-vdc pwr. 1)Provide and install a jumper box in the below decks MSC radio room. 2)Connection box will be installed at old GMDSS location for transferring it to new GMDSS location. 3)Run new power cable from jumper box to new GMDSS console location. f)After all cables are run and new console is installed, disconnect old GMDSS system and connect to new GMDSS system. g)Label all cables with appropriate tags IAW good marine practice h)Test new system and insure it is working properly. i)Provide documentation of GMDSS annual survey for Coast Guard certification to ship and to MSCREP. j)Remove all unused cable from old GMDSS system k)Remove Old GMDSS suite and deliver to the pier and all supporting equipment. 1) Equipment will be turned over to MSCREP for disposition. l)Inform MSCREP brian.wilbert@msc.navy.mil status of job. m)Demonstrate to ship?s force that system is working properly and have ships Chmate/Cheng sign off job
