Description
Pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302, the Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole-source agreement with Micrographic Equipment Design, Inc. (MEDI) (Hanover, MD) for preventive maintenance (PM) and on-call repair services for 103 pieces of various CANON equipment located in the Agency's Metro West Building in Baltimore, MD (downtown Greene St). In accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, the following items are needed: ten (10) CANON MP-60 Reader Printers, twenty-three (23) MS-500 Digital Microfilm Scanners with twenty-three (23) MS-100 Roll Carriers, twenty ?three (23) Fileprint 400 Laser Printers, two (2) Canon CD-4046 and two (2) Canon ED-500 Endorsers. The contractor will be required to: be available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays; provide all equipment, parts, personnel and supplies (excluding lamps); perform 2 PM visits on each piece of equipment during each period of performance; respond to an unlimited number of service calls within 24 working hours of notice; provide all modifications and/or upgrades to equipment as initiated by CANON, including all parts and items; and, after-hours message system. As service on equipment must be performed on site, SSA specific security requirements must be met. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals (with proof of Canon certification to provide maintenance on the equipment). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within five (5) Federal Business days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. SSA will not respond to, nor pay for requests for solicitations.
