- Description
- The National Institute of Standards & Technology, Acquisition & Logistics Division is seeking SMALL BUSINESS MANUFACTURERS of rest room products & dispensers, specifically, toilet tissue, paper towels & hand soap.***The following specifications apply to these products: TOILET TISSUE: Must meet EPA guidelines for recycled paper; Must be rolls, similar to the Scott JRT Junior Jumbo rolls, must consist of two-ply tissue. PAPER TOWELS: Must meet EPA guidelines for recycled paper; Must be rolls, and use a dispensing system that is similar to the levermatic or convertamatic system. HAND SOAP: Must be liquid and use a dispensing system that is similar to a push-action dispensing system. DISPENSERS: Must be ADA-compliant recessed and wall-mounted dispensers. SOAP DISPENSERS must be installed with double-sided self-sticking tape (NO SCREWS) and contain two 500 milliliter boxes of soap in a side-by-side dispensing system. PAPER TOWEL DISPENSERS shall have heavy-duty towel holder hardware, a built-in reserve-roll system to eliminate stub-roll waste, see-through cover consisting of a smoke or translucent type coloring, and key locks. The dispensing system shall be similar to the levermatic or convertamatic system. TOILET TISSUE DISPENSERS shall hold two rolls side-by-side, be similar to the Scott JRT Junior Jumbo dispensers, and must include locks.****Contractors MUST BE SMALL BUSINESS MANUFACTURERS of these products and have the capability to install and maintain dispensers as well as provide product on an as-needed basis for a minimum of one (1) year with the option for four (4) additional years. Product will be required for an estimated 1443 dispensers in 230 rest rooms.***Contractors shall identify themselves as small business, small disadvantaged business, hub-zone certified small business and/or 8(a) certified as appropriate. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement is 322299 and the small business size standard is 500 employees.***Contractors shall submit capability statements and product literature to the attention of Carol A. Wood, Contract Specialist, NIST, 100 Bureau Drive, Mail Stop 3571, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 not later than March 31, 2003.
