Description
NA The ATLAS II program was halted on 11 March 2002 because the Operational Requirements Document (ORD) for the vehicle was not finalized. We are issuing this Sources Sought notice to notify potential offerors that the ORD in now finalized and the ATLAS II program is now re-started. The ATLAS is a variable reach rough terrain forklift vehicle with a maximum load capacity of 10,000 pounds with a 48 inch load center that lifts and unloads pallets from containers. We will use formal source selection procedures to select that offeror who se proposal represents the best value to the government. Our intent is to buy the best possible vehicle for an average unit price of not more than $145,000.00 per vehicle in Fiscal Year 2003 dollars. The resultant production contract will be a five year firm fixed price requirements type contract for an estimated quantity of 980 ATLAS II vehicles. In addition, we are including two one year options (option quantities to be determined). If you are interested in this program, please visit the ATLAS II Homepage at http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/comveh/ATLASII/atlasII.htm. On our Homepage, recommend you start by reading the Executive Summary. This document provides you with our acquisit ion strategy for ATLAS II along with estimated quantities and a milestone schedule. If you intend to submit an offeror, we request that you provide us with some information on your capabilities by filling out the ATLAS II Market Survey and returning it to us. We request a response by 7 April 2003. The point of contact at TACOM is Mr. Sam Campanella, TEL (586) 574-5502, email: campanes@tacom.army.mil. The contracting officer is Mr. Matt Franzen, TEL (586) 574-6304, email: FranzenM@tacom.army.mil
