- Description
- The United States General Accounting Office (GAO) requires a contractor to provide security services which will include 1) a professionally qualified and highly trained security force to provide a safe and secure work place for building occupants; 2) performing security force management and staffing; 3) security system equipment installation and maintenance; 4) administering the access control system and monitoring closed-circuit television and alarm activities; 5) providing fire alarm system maintenance (and minimal installation); 6) detecting and deterring safety/security hazards, unauthorized, illegal, or potentially life-threatening activities; and 7) performing entrance receptionist services, parking administration, and other administrative security services as requested. The services under this contract shall be performed at the GAO Building, 441 G Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20548. In addition, GAO requires preventive maintenance on security system equipment at 820 1st Street N.E., Washington, DC. The government intends to award a fixed price type contract with the capability of ordering additional services to be performed under this contract as Special Tasks. Special Tasks will cover services performed after normal duty hours by technicians, administrative staff, parking administrator, and receptionists. It will also include additional services for security officers with less than 4 hours notice. These Special Tasks will be ordered pursuant to task orders issued by the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative and/or Technical Monitors based upon the hourly rates established in the contract. The period of performance shall be October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2004 with four (4) one-year options covering Fiscal Years 2005 through 2008. The RFP will be issued on or about December 16, 2002. Interested firms are required to submit their requests for the RFP, in writing, referencing RFP No. OAM-2003-N-0001; no telephone requests will be accepted.
