Description

NA TOW Coated Launch Motors, Part Number 13348304. The U. S. Army is contemplating a sole source procurement for TOW Coated Launch Motors (CLMs) from Alliant Techsystems, Incorporated, Alliant Ammuntion and Powder Company, Radford, VA. The planned acquisiti on consists of three program years. The three program years are 2003 (base year), 2004 (option 1), and 2005 (option 2). Each program year will have a basic quantity of 4,400 each Coated Launch Motors. Each program year will include an additive option fo r 3,000 each additional CLMs. In addition, the acquisition requires a First Article (FA) of 6 each CLMs. The Government may waive the requirement for first article approval test where supplies identical or similar to those called for in the schedule have been previously furnished by the offeror/contractor and have been accepted by the Government. The offeror/contractor may request a waiver. Hazardous material is involved in the production of the CLMs and must be handled in accordance with instructions p rovided in the RFP DAAH01-03-R-0142. Foreign industry may participate at the subcontractor level in relation to the TOW CLM contractor, Alliant Techsystems, Incorporated. Subcontracting opportunities must be arranged between the prime and any potential s ubcontractors. Foreign industry and/or non-U. S. citizens desiring a copy of the releasable portion of the solicitation must submit an official request through their respective embassy, Washington D. C., to HQDA, ATTN: DAMI-POC. Foreign-owned, controlle d, or influenced (FOCI) entities desiring a copy of the releasable portions of the TOW CLMs MUST SUBMIT an official request to the U. S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, ATTN: AMSAM-SI-SD, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898; however, release is not guaranteed. Requests from foreign industry and/or FOCI entities received by any other means will not be honored. Release date for this requirement is April 2003.
