Description

This requirement is for the contractor to continue efforts to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport Torpedo Software Branch to develop a signal processor support software package to support the development of more portable torpedo application software. This software package is required to support the Torpedo Mk 48 CBASS and Torpedo Mk 54 Mod 0 hardware upgrade programs. This effort will also facilitate the introduction of a Torpedo Rapid COTS Insertion (T-RCI) requirement for heavyweight and lightweight torpedo programs. The Government intends to award a sole source, cost plus fixed fee completion type contract to BBNT Solutions, Cambridge MA per FAR 6.303-2. BBNT is the only qualified vendor at this time to perform this requirement in the required timeframe because BBNT has expertise from previous contract efforts that provides them with the knowledge and experience of specific CBASS, Mk54 torpedo, and Mk 48 torpedo integration and analysis issues. Anticipated award date is 02 Jun 03. Delivery is F.O.B. destination, Newport, RI for efforts to be completed 18 months from the date of award. SEE NOTE 22. NAICS: 541512.
