Description
NA Furnish all materials, labor, equipment and perform all operations that are necessary to assemble and deliver the lower Beartrap Leave with associated parts and a lifting beam with associated parts to Lock and Dam 52, Army Corps of Engineers, mile 939, on the Ohio River. The contractor will assemble the Beartrap Leaves, lifting beam and other parts that will be used by the government in the Beartrap Chambers of Lock and Dam 52. The Beartrap Chamber is used as a dam structure to control water flows of th e Ohio River. Each Beartrap Chamber has two horizontally hinged leaves. The new lower Beartrap Leave(s) are a welded structural steel frame with skin sheet. Each Beartrap weighs approximately 107 tons fully assembled and is approximately 91? long X 34? wide X 3? deep. This solicitation contains options for two additional Beartrap Leaves. The successful contractor shall submit a certificate prior to award indicating that they meet the requirements of at least one of the following Certified Fabricator P rograms: (a) AISC Quality Certification Program (Complex Bridges), (b) AWS Certified Welding Fabricator Program, or (c) American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Delivery shall be made by contractor furnished barge(s) to Lock and Dam 52 at mile 939, on the Ohio River. Some of the Optional Line Items have delivery to the Louisville Repair Station, Louisville, Kentucky. The contractor shall begin work within 10 days of the Notice of Award. The anticipated award date for this procurement is 01 May 2003. The com pleted Beartrap Leave(s) shall be delivered to Lock 52 on 22 September 2003 by contractor provided barge(s). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332999, the SIC code is 3499, size standard is 500 employees, however, THIS PR OCUREMENT IS UNRESTRICTED. This request for quotes will be available on the Internet. Solicitation DACW27-03-T-0047 will be available on the website approximately 27 March 2003, and last date for receipt of quotes will be 17 April 2003 at 2:00 P.M.(loca l time).
