Description
NA A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are adequate Section 8(a) contractors for this project. In addition, this survey also includes a search for SBA HubZone certified Small Businesses. The proposed contractor will be required to conve rt two rifle field fire ranges to provide one standard design 32 lane modified record fire rifle range with night firing capability. Each lane is 10 meters wide and displays nine stationary targets from 50 to 300 meters downrange. Primary facilities incl ude all construction within the perimeter of the range complex and consist of a control tower, general instruction building, renovation of existing storage building, range support mess, stationary target emplacements, secondary power and data distribution system, staging area, maintenance trails, storm drainage, earthwork, range flagpole, foxholes, land and limit markers, signage, night firing lighting, night firing line, information systems, and intrusion detection system. Supporting facilities include al l construction outside the perimeter of the range complex, secondary electrical distribution service, install fiber optics communication line, install sewer and water lines, security lighting and site improvements. Heating will be provided by self contain ed units. Air conditioning (4 tons) will be provided in the control tower and one office area of the existing storage building. Demolish seven buildings with a total square feet of 2841. This project will issue approximately October 2003 with award of a contract no later than September 2004. This project will require a technical proposal. Technical proposals will be evaluated on such factors (as an example) of past performance, experience and technical approach. A minimum of twenty percent of the work must be self performed. The estimated value of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. All interested businesses that are certified Section 8(a) and or HubZone should notify this office in writing by mail at the above address to the attention of Debra Bruner or fax at 502-315-6194 by 4:00 p.m. (Louisville local time) on Tuesday, 8 April 2003. Responses should include (1) identification of company as Section 8(a) certified or HubZone certified, (2) performance and payment bond capability on a p roject this size, (3) military range experience similar in size and scope to this proposed project, what percent you performed and include references for each project. This IS NOT a request for proposal. If interested, only submit the information request ed above by 8 April 2003 as indicated above.
