Description
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis. A solicitation document is not available at this time. We will not respond to requests for solicitation copy. This sources sought synopsis is published for informational purposes only. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is attempting to identify contractors that can install seven mil. thick clear security film on the windows (from the inside) of the four buildings Headquarters Complex of Washington, D.C. for glass fragment hazard mitigation. The contractor/installer shall have a proven record of successfully performing similar installations of security products in similar facilities. The contractor/installer shall have not less than two years of experience installing the proposed products. The following is a list of the approved manufacturers for the security film products: CP Films, Inc., 3M, MSC, and FTI. All work shall be performed during regular working hours, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The U.S. Headquarters buildings consist of the following: 1. Jamie L. Whitten Office Building-Description: A Historic Building. East and West wings are four stories high, the Central Section is five stories high, approximately 850 wood and steel windows of various sizes. Approx. quantity: 32,570 sq. ft. 2. Sidney R. Yates Office Building-Description: The Yates building is a Historic Building of a Landmark status. The red brick building is 4/5 stories high, Approximately 400 wood windows, most of them in arched openings, Approx. quantity: 24,000 sq. ft. 3. Cotton Annex Building-Description: 4/5 stories high, approximately 130 steel windows. Approx. quantity: 2,400 sq. ft. All interested parties must respond to this notice no later than April 10, 2003. All responses to this announcement must include the following: 1. Contractor name, address, phone and fax numbers, 2. A brief statement detailing capabilities to provide this service, and, 3. The names and current phone numbers of three (3) references with whom you have provided similar services. Your responses may be faxed to 202/720-9226, Attn: LaTonya Richardson. This sources sought synopsis is not a request for proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the USDA, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or ultimately award of a contract. Information requested is required for planning purposes only.
