Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)has a requirement for Minbus servcies for the SURF Summer Stduent Program. Provide minibuses (25-35 passenger capacity) for the pick up of SURF students. During the period of May 27, 2003 through August 15, 2003 (excluding July 4, 2003). There will be a singel minibus making two trips each morning between 7:45 - 8:00 am and approx. 8:00 - 8:45 am, and two trips each evening approx. 5:15 pm and agin bewtween 5:45 - 6:00 pm. The minibus shall pick up SURF students from single pick up ooint a the Oakwood Apartments complex located at 9805 Mahongany Drive, Gaithersburg, Md, and Summerfield Suites complex located at 200 Skidmore Blvd, Gaithersburg, Md. and transport them to NIST. (This schedule and routing may be mutually adjusted during the summer.) 2 minibuses will perate on the above routes to handle addiional volme. Upon each AM arrival at NIST, the minubus shall stop at the NIST Security checkpoint at the Gate A entrance (Main Gate), then make stops at the following buildings, 221(Physics), 226,(Building Research), 235(Reactor), 245(Radiation Physics), and 820 (NIST NORTH).) NIST requires thast minibuses shall be maintained on a secure lot when not in use and all drivers assigned to this route shall have a background check. A list of all potential drives with their names, social security number and citizenship information shall provided for NIST Security upon award. Consistent on-time service is extemely important. In the event of mechanical breakdown orlack of transportation of anyh nature, the Contractor shall immediately notify the Technical contact and provide replacement vehicle(s) with a qualified driver(s) and resume services within one hours of the services interrrupted. It is critical that the drivers maintanin constant with their dispatch center. The Technical contact must be able to immediately contact the driver or dispatch center if needed. OPTION 1 Provide supplemental transportation for field trips and site visits, as needed. Dates, times, location and mumver of passenger to be mutally agreed upon. The period of perofrmanc eshall not exceed August 15, 2003. It is anticipated that the solication will be issued on or about March 27, 2003 at www.fedbizops.gov. The solicitation, all amendments and any questions and anserst to the solicitations will be posted to FEDBIZOPS and are totally the responsibility of the Offeror. No mailing lists will be kept and no hard copy of the RFQ will be available. All small business mayh submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency.
