- NA The John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) is hosting an 8(a) and HubZone Procurement Matchmaking Conference on April 30, 2003. The Volpe Center is reaching out to the 8(a) and HubZone small business community by conducting outreach sessions with these business concerns. The purpose of this conference is twofold: (1) to provide information on programs that will offer procurement opportunities for the 8(a) and HubZone small business concerns, subsequently, helping the Volpe Center meet its procurement preference goals; and (2) to provide an opportunity for the Volpe Center technical staff to meet with the representatives of 8(a) and HubZone companies. A breakout room will be made available for the purpose of exchanging information and having one-on-one disc ussions with Volpe Center technical personnel. The Conference will be held in Building 2, Room 120 of the DOT/RSPA/Volpe Center, 55 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02142 on Wednesday, April 30, 2003. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Conference will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 12:00 noon. The Volpe Center is looking for expertise in the following areas: Operations Research and Analysis (ORA); Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS); Physical Security Systems; Clerical/administrative Support; Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Installation; Environmental Remediation; Transportation Planning, and Traffic Analysis; Landscape and Snow Removal; and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) including Independent Verification and Valida tion testing. Space is limited to the first thirty (30) companies requesting attendance. In the interest of providing maximum exposure to the most companies, attendance is limited to not more than two representatives from each company.
