Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to enter into negotiations for a cost plus fixed fee contract on an other than full and open competition basis with Boeing Company for the modification, fabrication, integration, and testing of the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) weapon system with the Kill Assist, Adverse-weather, Targeting System (KAATS). The KATDAM (KAATS-JDAM) weapon system will require the installation of a KAATS data link and modifications to the JDAM guidance and navigation systems. The contractor shall design the data link hardware interface, data link software interface, data link antenna and installation, and navigation algorithm modifications. The contractor shall install and integrate data links and associated antenna into six (6) Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) MK-83 JDAM weapon kits along with GFE telemetry units. There is an option for the fabrication of up to five (5) additional KATDAM weapons. Boeing Company is the sole source contractor for the JDAM weapon system. They have detailed, intimate knowledge of the JDAM weapon system design and all of its key sub-components. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any interested person may identify their interest by submitting their qualifications and capability to perform, and/or a proposal within 45 days after publication of this synopsis. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Respond by mail to NAWCWD, Code 210000D, Attn: D.
