Description

The four passenger elevators located within the EPA facility at the Andrew W. Briedenbach Environmental Research Center, 26 W. Martin L. King Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio are in need of extensive repairs. The elevators are approximately 30 years old. Monthly maintenance service is currently provided for the elevators by ThyssenKrupp Elevator. The required repairs will involve the following: -- Reuse existing elevators' doors and operators. -- Furnish and install new PMSSC Operator Linkage which includes, split linkage, standard long levers, standard crank arms and door drive blocks. -- Furnish and install new Car Hanger Packages which includes, car hangers, gate switches, restrictive standard clutches and car hardware. -- Furnish and install new Hatch Hanger Packages which includes, hatch hangers, interlocks and drives with rod, reel closers with brackets, unlocking flag kits and hatch hardware. -- Work is to be performed in all four passengers elevators during regular business hours, Monday thru Friday. -- The Contractor shall coordinate efforts with the EPA Project Officer and in-house Operations & Maintenance Contractor personnel. -- The Contractor shall field verify all dimensions before ordering any equipment. Any differences in the field condition shall be brought up immediately to the Contracting Officer's attention. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302-1 as cited in 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) the EPA intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis, with ThyssenKrupp Elevator, to acquire the required elevator repair services. This notice is not a request for proposals. Sources wishing to be considered must submit documentation to the office identified above to establish: 1 - that the firm has available the requisite experienced personnel to perform the identified work, 2 - that the firm has sufficient experience performing similar work on passenger elevators similar in age and model type to those at the EPA facility, and 3 - that the firm has established supplier relationships to procure the required parts in a timely manner in order to effect timely repairs to the EPA's elevators. Documentation should be submitted within 14 days of publication of this notice for consideration by the Government.
