- Description
- The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (DOL/ETA), intends to award, on a sole-source basis, nine (9) Job Corps National Training contracts. The incumbent contractors are: International Masonry Institute; International Union of Painters and Allied Trades; International Union of Operating Engineers; United Brotherhood of Carpenters ? Job Corps Training Fund, Inc.; National Plastering Industry?s Joint Apprenticeship Trust Fund; Unite auto Workers/Labor, Employment and Training Corporation; Transportation International Union; Appalachian Council, AFL-CIO; and the Home Builders Institute. The period of performance shall be twelve (12) months from the date of execution, and four 1-year options at the government?s discretion. The contractors shall provide all necessary trained and qualified personnel, services, facilities, and materials (including travel and subsistence) to satisfy Job Corps requirements to meet student training needs in various skill areas, as well as job placement and support services that will lead to long-term labor market attachment. Qualified sources that are interested are invited to submit a Statement of Capability (SOC), not to exceed ten (10) pages in length, within fifteen (15) days of this publication. The SOC should demonstrate the interested source?s experience in coordinating, monitoring, overseeing, and providing the necessary administrative support services to accomplish performance of vocational training and placement activities for at-risk youth. This includes the selection, assignment, training and supervision of instructors and field personnel on a nationwide basis. Further, interested sources must clearly demonstrate the existence of meaningful linkages with both labor an business/industry organizations throughout the nation, that will promote and directly support the placement of Job Corps graduates/students in registered apprenticeship and other career opportunities. No solicitation document exists. Responses to this synopsis must be in writing. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Responses must include the SOC and reference the synopsis number PAR 03-1216, and DOL contact, Ms. Chari A. Magruder, Contract Specialist, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Room C-4310, Washington, D.C. 20210. No award will be based on any offer or proposal received in response to this notice.
