Description

The work of this contract consists of the general construction of stormwater treatment systems to eliminate the potential for significant effects on cave aquatic ecosystems from polluted stormwater runoff from parking areas in the park. The parking areas chosen for treatment as part of this project include: Visitor Center (east and west sides); Hotel/Restaurant (east and west sides); Sunset Lodge; Operations Center; Gas Station/Camp Store; and Sloans Crossing. Each site will be outfitted with either an oil/grit separator (equivalent to that manufactured by CSR Stormceptor); a filtration system (equivalent to that manufactured by Stormwater Management, Inc.); or a combination of the two systems. All work will be performed under a single contract. The proposed project is located within the boundaries of Mammoth Cave National Park, Edmonson County, Kentucky 42259.
