Description

Sequoia National Park is soliciting quotations on a competitive basis from qualified organizations to enter into a firm fixed price contract to supply six hundred fifty (650) tons of asphalt that meet the specifications contained within this synopsis/solicitation. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information inluded in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Solicitation number is Q8550030047 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27, included in the FAR Reissue of September 2001. This solicitation is a 100% set-aside for small businesses; the associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes are 324121 and 324110; the small business size standards are 500 and 1500 employees respectively. The following contract line item number and items, quantities and units of measure, are applicable: CLIN 0001 (650 tons, AR4000, Asphalt Hot Mix, Type B Aggregate 1/2" rock). The asphalt is required to be delivered FOB destination to Lodgepole, Generals Highway, Sequoia National Park, 93262 beginning August 1, 2003. Delivery shall be accomplished using end dump trucks capable of transferring mix to both self propelled or pull box paving machines. The provision at FAR 52.212-01, Instructions to Offerors--Commercial, applies to this acquisition as well as the provision at FAR 52.212-02 are price, technical capability of the items offered to meet the government's needs, and past performance; all evaluated equally. Offerors are advised to include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-03, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with their offers.
